He was predeceased by: his parents, James R. "Bob" Schmitt and Glenna Schmitt (Law). He is survived by: his siblings, Barb Carls (Dewain) and Jim Schmitt of Minonk; his nephew Jon Carls (Keri); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nick (Raquel), Hayden (Gwen) and Alyx (Jxon).
