He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harrison Gibson and Dora Gibson (Scott); his wife Sally C. Maierhofer; his children, Cynthia Gibson of Peoria, Lynn Gibson of Peoria, Dr. Bradley Gibson (Dawn) of Niles, Elizabeth Gibson (Ron) of Peoria, Bryan Gibson (Holly) of East Peoria and Dr. Brett Gibson (Elizabeth) of Bethleham, Pennsylvania; his half-brother Daniel Lowkewicz (Dianna) of Florida; and his sons, Craig Gibson and Timothy Gibson. He was also cherished by sixteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the University of Illinois College of Medicine at 1 Illini Dr. Peoria, IL.
