He was predeceased by: his parents, Demetrio Gonzalez and Petra Salazar; his wife Verna Bracey; his son R. J. Salazar (Sandy) of LaSalle; and his grandson Tommy Milby.
He is survived by: his children, Demi Salazar (Annette) of Princeton, Angela Zupancic (Frank) of Dunlap, Petrita Salazar of LaSalle and Dr. Brent Salazar (Kelley) of Dallas; his daughter-in-law Sandy Salazar of LaSalle; his grandchildren, Jennifer Hubbard (Troy) of Princeton, Nico Salazar (Jen) of Oglesby, Chris Salazar (Jayme) of Oglesby, Isaac Salazar (Amanda) of Tonica, Frank Zupancic (Aimee) of Dunlap, Steven Zupancic of Peoria, Nicole Salazar of LaSalle, Terry Milby of Peru, Brianna Konczak (Danny) of LaSalle, Brittany Salazar of LaSalle, Logan Salazar of Dallas and Rowan Salazar of Dallas; and his siblings, Jessica Zalazar and John Salazar. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
