He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Hopps and Mary Hopps; his in-laws, Charles and Ann "Granny" Majors; his nephews, Dr. Charles Majors and Brandon Hopps; his brother Kevin Hopps; and his nephew Scott Hopps.
He is survived by: his significant other Christine Hopps of Peru; his children, Heather Moncrief (Brian) of LaSalle, Jaqueline Hopps Peterlin (Jay Wheeler) of Oglesby and Lucas Hopps (Kristin Deichmueller) of Naperville; his grandchildren, Clay Vaini, Wiley Brager, Max Brager, Gage Moncrief, Mia Moncrief, Easton Moncrief, Price Peterlin, Boone Hopps and Harlo Hopps; and his siblings, Ron Hopps (Marilyn), Terry Hopps (Cindy) and Karen Walker (Douglas).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to establish the Gary Hopps Basketball Memorial Fund in memory of Gary and directed to Eureka Savings Bank at 250 Marquette St. LaSalle, IL.
