We are sad to announce that, on May 5, 2024, at the age of 38, Kristen Shizuko Kardas (Peru, Illinois), born in Chicago, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to Kristen Shizuko's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Kristen Shizuko has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

She is survived by: her parents, Kim and Penny (Fukuya) of Edwardsville; her brother Scott; and her sister-in-law Maelynn (Alley) of Boston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Humane Society or services that support the military, causes she much respected.
