He was predeceased by : his parents, George W. Beck and Hulda Beck (Caupert); his brothers, Arnold and George Beck; and his niece Elaine Sanders.

He is survived by : his wife Janet Mathis of Pinckneyville, IL; his sister Lillian Sternberg of Steeleville, IL; his nephew Scott Sternberg (Vickey) of Steeleville, IL; his great-niece Dawn Booker (Kenneth) of Red Bud, IL; and his great-nephews, Christopher Sternberg (Hilary) of Red Bud, IL and Brandon Sternberg of Steeleville, IL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
