Aletha Rhodes Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Aletha Rhodes (Pittsfield, Illinois), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 24, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Leroy Abel and Clara Knabe Abel; her husband Gaylord Ray Rhodes; and her great grandchild Cael Welty. She is survived by: her children, Peggy Rhodes Dabney (Robert Rigney, Jr.) of Quincy, IL, Randy Rhodes (Debbie) of Montgomery, TX, David Rhodes (Debbie) of Pittsfield, IL and Richard Rhodes (Rebecca) of Pittsfield, IL; her grandchildren, Stefanie Johnston (Jim), Chris Dabney, Ryan Rhodes (Kari), Tyler Rhodes (Olivia), Josh Rhodes (Sarah), Dustin Rhodes (Natalie), Karley Carter (Josh), Kasey Osment, Hayden Osment, Haley Rhodes and Kelly Lentz (Zach); and her brother-in-law Keith Rhodes (Barb). She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Niebur Funeral Home (530 W Adams St, Pittsfield, IL 62363). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials are suggested to be made to Pittsfield First Christian Church or West Cemetery.
