He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Harris and Fern Myers Harris; his daughter Cheri Julius; and his brother Beed Harris. He is survived by: his wife Tammy Harris; his children, Cathy Dearing (Chris) and John Harris, Jr. (Alicia); his stepdaughters, Heather Seal (John) and Kelly Bloxam (Steven); his grandchildren, Emily McGill (Nick), Mackenzie Canaday (Sam), Morgan Wallace (Gaige), Aymee Julius, Kayla Carnes (Dylan), Zach Harris, Jacob Seal, Kayla Kiehna (Alex), Bobby Seal, Eryn Seal, Cameron Smith, Christopher Smith, Landyn Seal, Tanner Seal, Blayne Sidwell, Brycen Bloxam, Theodore Bloxam, Tegan Harris, Isaac Harris, Ryne Harris and Breanna Stewart; his great grandchildren, Charleigh McGill, Camden McGill, Cartyr McGill, Casey Canaday, Weston Wallace, Josephine Carnes, Dani Seal, Scottie Seal, Easton Kiehna and Ellie Tieman; and his siblings, Virginia Smith, Rita Gant, Crystal Goodfliesh (Greg), Connie Bollman and Robert Harris (Ashlyn). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
