She was predeceased by: her parents, William Eldon and Leona Sleight (Speer); her son Stephen D. Smith; her siblings, Norma Pool, Dalene Goewey and John Wesley; her half-sister Gladys Marie Huffman; and her grandson-in-law Jeff Cox.
She is survived by: her daughter Stephanie Bess (Jerry Ator) of Pittsfield, IL; her granddaughters, Kristen Smith, Amy Cox, Ashlee Nash (Michael), Emily Fox (Katie) and Erica Bess; her great grandchildren, Hayley Cox, Abigail Cox, Kaitlyn Cox, Sydnee Cox, Wyatt Nash (Kaylee), Collin Nash, Braden Smith and Bryce Smith; and her great great grandchild Bellamy Nash. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to be made to the Pittsfield United Methodist Church or Pittsfield West Cemetery.
