He is survived by: his wife Diana Ramsey McIlvane; his son Matthew McIlvane; his daughter-in-law Megan McIlvane (Miller); his grandchildren, Mason and Mila McIlvane; and his siblings, William McIlvane (Joanne Kledaras), Amy McIlvane Ballard (Robert Ballard), Charlie McIlvane and Nancy McIlvane Del Genio (Robert Del Genio). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their children.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) #17.
