Marilyn Jane (Todd) Benckendorf Obituary

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. This life will never be the same without a wonderful grama, mother, and sister, known as Marilyn "Mair" Jane Benckendorf (Plainfield, Illinois). Mair was born in Joliet, Illinois, spent a good portion of her life in Plainfield, and lived out the rest of her life in Plattville, Illinois. She spent 43 years caring for her husband, Allan L. Benckendorf, before he passed away at the age of 77 in 2011 from natural causes. Mair passed away at the age of 73, on January 11, 2020, after losing her long battle with bladder cancer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel Dew (Todd); her husband Allan Benckendorf; and her siblings, Nancy and Robert Dew. She is survived by her children, Tammy Benckendorf (Kulakowski) of Joliet, Jay Benckendorf of Newark and Kathy Benckendorf (Campbell) of Culpepper, VA; her grandchildren, Megan, Jax, Kathy, Michael, Emilee and Cash; and her siblings, Georgie Byrd, Beverly Dell, Louise McDaniel, Kent, James and William Dew. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as a few close family friends.
