He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Bateman and Garnet Bateman. He is survived by: his wife Jeanette; his sons, Kim Bateman of Pleasant Hill, Kevin Bateman of Jefferson City and Kenyen Bateman (Cheryl) of Jefferson City, Missouri; his grandchildren, Aaron Smith (Denise), Julie Houston (Brandon), Jordan Bateman (Jessica), Derek Bateman (Erin) and Michael Bateman; and his great grandchildren, River, Sloan, Jaida, Ella, Kobe and Josie.
Memorials are suggested to be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Kampsville, Fairfield Library in Pleasant Hill, or Crescent Heights Cemetery in Pleasant Hill.
