Andrew James Cherry Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Andrew James Cherry of Pleasant Plains, Illinois, who passed away on March 13, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Wesley G. Cherry and Irene Cherry (Bodi); his brother Wesley Cherry; his brother-in-law James Smith; and his nephews, Don and Jon Cherry.

He is survived by: his wife Rose Zanger; his children, Andrew Cherry (Beverly) of Springfield and Vicki Selvaggio (Andrew) of Springfield; his sister Cheryl Smith of Staunton; and his pet Angel. He is also survived by two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fort Donelson National Battlefield, in regards to Major General Washington Cherry.
