She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles DuBois and Grace VanBrooker DuBois; her husband William J. "Bill" Akers; and her siblings, Butch DuBois and Virginia Potter.

She is survived by: her children, Larry Akers (Penny) of West Point, IL, Brenda Neff (Kurt) of Carthage, IL and Lynda Kruzan Icenogle (Eric) of Blandinsville, IL. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Plymouth Old Settlers.
