We announce the death of Robert L. Rapp of Pocahontas, Illinois, born in East Saint Louis, Illinois, who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 89. Robert will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his daughter Judith; his grandson Nathan; and his siblings, Loretta and Joe. He is survived by: his significant other Donna Rapp; his children, Nancy (Tim), Jennifer (Mark), Joseph (Terri), Karen (Ray) and Linda (Steve); his grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Melissa, Meghan, Elizabeth, Joseph, Christine, Robert, Stephen, Grace, Jack, Sylvia and Lauren; and his sisters, Sister Dolores Ann and Virginia. He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many close friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 8:30 AM to 10:15 AM at the Meridith Funeral Home (1223 Broadway, Highland, IL 62249). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (971 Main St, Pierron, IL 62273). A burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at the Calvary Catholic Cemetery (16192 Baumann Rd, Pocahontas, IL 62275).
Memorial donations may be made to Knight Alzheimer Disease Research Center or to Family Hospice.
