He was predeceased by: his mother Lari Ann (Mike); his stepfather James Whitten; his brothers, Leonard Finning, Alan Carey and George Carey; his stepbrother James Whitten Jr.; his former wife Bonnie Jean Carey (Charlene); his granddaughter Amy; and his niece Heather Finning.
He is survived by: his caregiver Beverly Carpenter; his children, Daniel Anthony Carey, III (Paige), Kimberly Friend (Brent), Amanda Munoz (Vincent), Rachel Munoz (Orlando), Ann Manly (Toby) and Christine Tucker; his siblings, Joseph Carey, Nicolas Carey, Richard Long (Colleen), Lorna Finning, Linda Kelley (Pat), Lari Ann Hayes (Mike), Diane Carey, Janice Carey, Cynthia Carey and Colleen LeGere; his stepbrothers, Robert Whitten (Maria) and Richard Whitten (Vanessa); and his sisters-in-law, Maureen Kratzer (Finning) and Sue Scroggen Whitten. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts.
