He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Sr. Schertz and Gertrude Schertz; and his siblings, Richard Schertz and Ruth Saxton (Roy). He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Schertz; his children, Quentin Schertz and Elizabeth Bailey (Nathan); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Schertz, Zachary Schertz, Brandon Chaney, Emily Bailey, Andrew Bailey and Lillian Bailey; his sisters, Mary Embry (David) and Betty Petropoul (Pete); and his sister-in-law Jo Schertz.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home (903 W Custer Ave, Pontiac, IL 61764). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 4:30 PM at the same location.
