He is survived by: his wife Kate; his children, Jennifer Steidinger (Brad) of Fairbury, IL, Ryan Hinz (Amy Wellman) of Maquoketa, IA, Tommy Hinz (Jami) of Pontiac, IL and Brent Hinz (Monica) of Morton, IL.; his grandchildren, Karmyn Steidinger, Alyza Steidinger, Tyler Hinz, Brody Hinz, Izzy Hinz, Evelyn Hinz, Myers Hinz, Charlotte Hinz, Nolan Hinz, Nina Hinz, Eleanor Hinz and Gwenyth Hinz; his siblings, Johnny Hinz (Twyla) of Morton, IL, Gil Hinz of Dubuque, IA, Stevie Hinz (Alesha) of Odell, IL and Diane Frandsen of Olathe, KS.; and his in-laws, Gery Oestern (Kitty) of Maquoketa, IA and Paula Jedlicka (Rick) of Lisbon, IA.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Memorial donations in Tom's name may be made to Pontiac Fire Department or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
