It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Helen Apponey of Pontoon Beach, Illinois, who passed away on February 25, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, John Woods and Bertha Woods (Wade); her granddaughter Jessica Apponey; and her sister Thelma Smith. She is survived by : her children, Kathleen Horton (Douglas), Tina Apponey-Stanley, Cynthia Apponey, Lydia Apponey, Victoria Apponey, Cruise and Samuel Apponey Jr. (Bettina Brown); her grandchildren, Samuel Apponey III, Amanda McManamy, Angela Apponey, Douglas Horton Jr., Lauren Horton, Jason Stanley, Nicholas Stanley, Melissa Peach and Kristen Apponey; her great grandchildren, Kirsten Brenner, Brandon Apponey, Jessalyn Lamb, Jessica McManamy, Hailey Horton, Emily Horton, Tyler Stanley, Audrey Stanley, Bastain Stanley, Santino Stanley, Ryan Peach, Savannah Peach, Caroline Hammack, Elanore Martin, Oliva, Jayce, Tucker, Atlas, Nor and Maximus; and her sisters, Betty Quick, Jean Hummel, Jackie Woods and Delores Silverstein.
