She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Meadows and Glenda Meadows (Wallace); her siblings, Valerie Hattner (Meadows) and Jeffery Meadows; her parents-in-law, Marvin, Joan Middleton, James and Kathryn Garrett; her brothers-in-law, Terry Garrett (Patricia) and James Garrett; and her nephew Jimmy Garrett.
She is survived by: her husband Marty Garrett; her children, Jenni Langston, Jason Middleton (Shawna) and Brandon Middleton (Danielle Sofia); her stepdaughters, Amanda Garrett (David Wright) and Alicia Garrett; her grandchild Cam Middleton; and her siblings, Debbie Mayes (Meadows), Felicia Catron (Meadows), Morgan Newpher (Doug), Harvey Meadows (Jennifer) and Susan Welch (Meadows). She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Kathy's wish was for those attending to bring a stuffed teddy bear to be donated to Lurie Children's Hospital—because even in her goodbye, she was thinking of others. For those unable to attend, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
