Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Mina Newhouse (Poplar Grove, Illinois), who passed away at the age of 100, on January 8, 2026. Though Mina has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Hazel and R. Scott; her husband William Newhouse; and her daughter Nancy Wilhelmsen. She is survived by: her children, Virginia Johnson, Marshall Newhouse (Julie) and Brian Newhouse (Angela). She is also survived by ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 24th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church (23184 Bergen Rd, Poplar Grove, IL 61065). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

“We just learned of Mina’s passing. There are many wonderful memories that come to mind. One was of her amazing black bottom pie, her cooking and her graciousness, Mina loved her husband, family, and neighbors. We were lucky enough to have been one of those neighbors for 5 years during 1970 to 1975. She was an inspiration and a good friend. We send love and condolences to her amazing family. She will be missed. Tom and Judy Delashmutt”
