It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gordon Ray Knowlton of Port Byron, Illinois, who passed away on September 26, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Junior P. Knowlton and Hazel M. Knowlton (MacFadden); and his brother Daniel A. Knowlton. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Hayes; his children, Sarah Mueller (Jeremy), Michael Knowlton, Christopher Knowlton, Kimberly Knowlton (Michael Gomez) and Elizabeth Dworak (Andrew); his grandchildren, Artemis Dworak, Dylan Mueller, Hannah Mueller and Devan Mueller; his great grandchild Jaymee Quinn; and his siblings, Theresa Knowlton (Dave Krueger) and Michael Overall.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gibson - Bode Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd. - Port Byron (202 N Main St, Port Byron, IL 61275).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Upper Rock Island County Recreation Association (URICRA) to sponsor a child who may not have the financial funds to play in a URICRA sport.
