He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert William and Elizabeth Ella Buchanan (Bird); and his siblings, William "Bill" Robert Buchanan of Princeton and Beverly Moore of Malden, IL.. He is survived by: his wife Linda Buchanan of Princeton; his children, Mark Buchanan (Michelle) of Bonaire, GA, Regina Hartman (Shawn Hagerty) of Oostburg, WI and Vickie Jaggers of Wyanet; and his grandchildren, Zachary Buchanan, Joshua Buchanan (Samantha), Emily Ellman, Braxton Hartman, Jerica Hartman, Madison Jaggers and Brodie Jaggers.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Memorials are suggested to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Burton Keith Buchanan 's name.
