He was predeceased by: his mother Elizabeth Gartner (Lease); and his siblings, David Gartner, William Gartner, Charles Peter, Helen Krone and Mary Rita Henry.
He is survived by: his father Jack Gartner; his wife Nancy Gartner of Princeton; his children, Kara Garmon (David) of Highland, IN and Joshua Gartner of Hornsby, TN; his grandsons, Jack of Walnut, IL. and Jake Gartner of Hornsby, TN.; his stepgrandson Collin Garmon of Highland, IN; his nephew Pete; his close friends, Jenny and Brett Andrew; and his extended family Pete.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home (30 W Mechanic St, Princeton, IL 61356). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Cemetery (1908 E 3rd St, Sterling, IL 61081).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buddy Bags of Princeton, and Second Story.
