He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Phillips and Martha Phillips (Godfrey); his stepfather Richard "Dick" Atwood; and his stepsiblings, Diane (Atwood) and Bob Germain.
He is survived by: his son Brigham Phillips of State College, PA; his brother David Phillips (Linda) of Peoria, IL; and his stepsiblings, Steve Atwood (Brenda) of West Union, IL and Kathy Anderson (Kimberly Phillips) of Dayton, OH. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
