He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Balensiefen and Mildred Balensiefen (Kennedy); his wife Betty G. Wright of Mary's Catholic Church; and his siblings, Gene, Jerry, Henry Balensiefen, Sue Wright, Judy Colyott and Rita Wright.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Hicks (Larry) of Peoria, Lorie Balensiefen of Buda, Cara Miner of Princeton and Kent Balensiefen (Cheryl) of Buda; his grandchildren, Travis DeSplinter (Kelsey) of Wyanet, Jordan Lanxon (Luke) of Sheffield, Lauren Hicks, Nicole Doty (Justin) of Sheffield, Blake Balensiefen (Lexi) of Buda and Leanne Smith of Dalzell; his great grandchildren, Brynn, Callie DeSplinter, Sawyer, Cooper Lanxon, Jovi, Jentry, Ridley Doty, Acre and Bauer Balensiefen; and his siblings, Robert Balensiefen, Tommy Balensiefen (Donna), Betty Fundell and Sally Donnelly. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
