He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelly E. Hicks and Lois Hicks (Davis). He is survived by: his children, Amanda Thomas and Anthony Thomas; his siblings, Sharon Hicks of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Joan Smith (Mike) of Sterling, Tracy Shaffer (Prophetstown) and Gregory Hicks of Rock Falls; and his grandchildren, Maycie and Maddyn Hicks of Prophetstown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog and best friend.
