He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernice Steffens and Peter Steffens of Wilmette, IL.; his wife Rita M. Steffens; his daughters, Kim and Kathy; his sister Arlene Olk; and his son-in-law Patrick McGuiness.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce R. Steffens (Patricia), Susan M. Gullick (Walter), Laura L. McGuiness and Robert P. Steffens (Janet); his grandchildren, Corynn, Brent, Michelle, Brian, Caitlin, Jenna, Amy, Laura, Brianna and Melody; his great grandchildren, Dahlia, Lucia, Benjamin, Avery, Reagan, Auron and Aurelia; and his sister Rosemary Steffens.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Saint Alphonsus Liguori Church (411 N Wheeling Rd, Prospect Heights, IL 60070). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Thursday, December 5th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the All Saints Cemetery (700 N River Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to St. Alphonsus Ministry of Care.
