He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl and Mathilde; and his siblings, Bernhard, Angela (Peter) and Edith.
He is survived by: his wife Brigitte; his children, Michael (Kathie) and Christine; his grandsons, Michael (Jenna) and Nicholas (Melissa); and his siblings-in-law, Horst and Karen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
