With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Joann Deatsch of Prospect Heights, Illinois, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Joann left this world on September 23, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anthony Philip and Barbara Davitt (Bell); her husband Ron; her siblings, Philip (Theo), Dorothy Thomas (Richard), Robert Davitt and Jane McCurran (Joe); and her in-laws, Tom Steinhauser, Jerry Ripperger, Firman (Betty), Elmer, William, Eugene, Shirley and Ivan Deatsch.
She is survived by: her children, Debra Wolfe (Steve), Dale Deatsch (Martha) and Diane Cappis (Bruce); her grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary Salata, Kelly Deatsch-Robinson (Brad), Alison Deatsch (Zachary), Melissa Saitz (Frankie), Gregory (Jess), Jessica and Ryan Cappis; her great grandchildren, Jackson, Kendall, Emma, Layla, Caroline, Ryder, Owen and Noah; her sisters, Mary Steinhauser and Helen Ripperger; and her in-laws, Linda Davitt, Rosalie Gedler, John Deatsch, Judy Gilliam (Bill), Donna, Carolyn and Marita Deatsch.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the St. Thomas Aquinas Church (210 S Wesley St, Indianola, IA 50125). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, http://www.alzfdn.org, in Joann's name.
