It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Leo W Haapasaari of Prospect Heights, Illinois, who passed away on November 23, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Jacob Haapasaari and Liisa Haapasaari; and his siblings, Onnie, George, Urho, Frank, Margaret Niemi (George) and Ellen Moldowan.

He is survived by : his wife Beatrice Saelens; his sister-in-law Sadie; his stepsons, Doug and Scott; and also, Eric, Kristin, Katie, Jonathan, Doug Johnson, Scott Johnson (Beth), Beth, Elaine Haines, Bob Haapasaari, Joan Nunamaker, Sandra Quinn, Patty Elstner and Susan Gruska. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
