It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alvera Bardon of Quincy, Illinois, who passed away on June 8, 2022, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Stegeman and Julia Bickhaus Stegeman; her husband Harold Fred Bardon; her son Bruce Harold Bardon; her siblings, Myrtle Awerkamp (John), Ruth Liesen (Larry), Florence Ulrich (Jack), Ralph Stegeman (Ruth), Elmo Stegeman and Norbert Stegeman; her son-in-law Roger Bockhaus; and her siblings-in-law, Arthur Bardon (Buddy), Leroy Bardon (Florence), Norma Bardon, Larina Meyer (Arthur), Hazel Oster (Marvin) and Renetta Arms (Richard).

She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Bockhaus of Quincy and Nancy Friye (Tom) of Quincy; her grandchildren, David Bockhaus (Laurie) of San Leandro, CA, Cathy Bockhaus Towl (Brandon) of University City, MO, Todd Friye (Dee) of Quincy, Travis Friye (Pam) of Quincy and Trevor Friye (April) of Quincy; her great grandchildren, Larissa Bockhaus of San Leandro, CA, Austin Friye of Lima, IL, Logan Friye of Quincy, Noah Friye of Leland, NC, Jonah of Quincy, Joshua Friye of Quincy, Hayden of University City, MO, Harper Towl of University City, MO, Kale of Quincy and Easton Friye of Quincy; and her sister-in-law Jane Stegeman of Bowling Green, KY. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Alvera loved her volunteer times with the former St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Retired Seniors Volunteer Program (RSVP), and St. Francis Food Pantry. During the pandemic, Alvera packaged over 1, 000 masks for school children as a part of the Kiwanis Mask Up project in Quincy.
