He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Earl and Lillie Rogers Butler; his wife Mary Elizabeth Shinn; and his siblings, Barbara "Bobbie" Pine, Carolyn M. Baker, Ella Mae Butler, Wendell, Don, Charles, Paul and Denny.
He is survived by: his children, Deborah Henley (Gary) of Arlington, TX and Todd Butler (Jennifer) of Fort Worth, TX; his grandchildren, Cody Dean Henley (Katie) of Greenville, SC and Katherine Elizabeth Butler of Fort Worth, TX; and his siblings, Jeannie Hull (Jim) of Quincy, Bruce Butler of Fullerton, CA and Roy Butler (Joan) of Jacksonville, CA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
