He was predeceased by: his parents, Noel E. Dever and Rachel Leffler Dever; his wife Lynn Marie Sjurset; and his siblings, John Wesley Dever, Marietta E. Boley, Mike Marion Dever, Harold Hunt Dever and David Dale Dever.
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Dever of Quincy, Beth Stice of Quincy and Candy Woutzke of Quincy; his grandchildren, Rachel Abernathy (Todd Forrest) of Quincy, Jacob Abernathy of Quincy and Kalynn Woutzke of Virginia; and his great grandchildren, Elijah, Aurora Forrest, Noah and Jonah Gehring. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home (1535 State St, Quincy, IL 62301). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
