He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Vansteel and Mathilda Hermesmeyer Vansteel; and his siblings, Barbara Benzaquin, Frank Vansteel, Jr., Marjorie Minogue, Russell Vansteel and Ruth Pietkiewicz.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Vansteel of Dallas, TX and Paula Rahn (Keith) of Springfield, IL; and his grandchildren, Alex, Steven, Max Vansteel, Taylor, Megan and Morgan Rahn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
