"BJ" Sparks; his son Terry Sparks; his grandson Adam Schell; his siblings, Everett Sparks (Betty), Harold Sparks (Ruby), Jean Perry (Gordon) and Barbara Rottman (Carl); and his brother-in-law Ralph Graff.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Terry; his daughters, Nancy Garrett of Tucson, AZ, Debbie Schell (Scott) of Quincy and Connie Harcharick (Jerry) of Quincy; his grandchildren, Kristine Mayfield (Brian) of Tucson, AZ, Ryan Sparks (Carolyn) of Quincy, Eric Schell (Stephanie Dyer) of Quincy, Megan Kasal (Clayton) of Richwoods, MO, David Schell (Kiana Reed) of Quincy and Laura Harcharick of Quincy; his great grandchildren, Gage Mayfield, James Sparks, Rosa Sparks and Odessa Schell; and his sister Judy Graff of Quincy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home (1535 State St, Quincy, IL 62301). A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
