It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Schluter of Quincy, Illinois, who passed away on October 10, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire her loved ones, keeping Dorothy's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Stansbery and Freda Hyer Stansbery; her husband Kenneth A. Schluter; and her brother Clyde Stansbery. She is survived by: her children, Kent Schluter (Wendy) of Lake St, Keith Schluter (Kathryn) of Macomb, IL and Karen Janssen (David) of Augusta, IL. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hamilton Funeral Home (200 Orchard St, Augusta, IL 62311). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bowen Cemetery Association.
