He was predeceased by: his parents, George H. Leenerts and Mathida R. Saathoff Leenerts; and his siblings, Elmer Leenerts, Bernice Jording and Rosemary Jacobs.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Joyce" Rowbotham; his children, Rebecca Allen (Bill) of Quincy, Randy Leenerts (Jane), Robin Ippensen (Kirk) of Mendon, IL and Roger Leenerts (Julie) of Quincy; his grandson James Wagy (Shannon) of Mankato, MN; his children, Alex Ippensen (Robin) of Ursa, IL, Daniel Ippensen of Quincy, Jenna Miller (Gatlin) of Sullivan, IL, Kate Alli (Ola) of Denver, CO, Brooke Reid (Preston) of Plano, TX, Emily Brown (Gordon) of Benbrook, TX, Anna Kelle (Logan) of Colorado Springs, CO, Grant Leenerts (Hayley Lester) of Quincy, Jennifer Humer (Chris) of Tolono, IL, Sarah Allen of Champaign, IL and Nicki Allen of Canada; and his brother Virgil Leenerts. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
