It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Frances Vercelia Clay (Quincy, Illinois), who passed away on January 19, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, William Nixon-Lewis and Mary Buckman Nixon-Lewis; her husband Granville Clay; her son Brian Bassett; and her siblings, Norma Mahr, William Nixon and Willetta Nixon.

She is survived by : her grandchildren, Brandon Stanton of Monroe City, MO and Nikki Gibson (Jason) of Lee Summit, MO; and her sisters, Margaret Alexander of Moline, IL and Barbara Lewis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers or food, donations can be made to Frances' extended family, the Quincy YMCA, St. John Anglican Parish, or the donor's choice.
