He was predeceased by: his parents, Myrton Gordon and Ruth Gordon (Wenger); and his grandson Joshua Guerry. He is survived by: his wife Connie Burris; his children, Amy Guerry, Frederikus Gordon (Heather), Rebecca Busbin (Michael) and Annalise Smith (Joshua); his grandchildren, Jerehmy Guerry (Gabriella), Sera Guerry, Noah Guerry, Eli Guerry, Ayden Busbin, Colin Busbin, Jessa Smith and Joshua Smith, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Elayna and Elliot Guerry; and his siblings, Jean Willich (Keith), Harold Gordon and Lee Gordon (Cathy). He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund or to the Dolphin Scholarship Foundation to help members of the US Submarine Force and their dependents.
