He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Howard and Hazel P. Stone Howard; his great grandchild Maverick Cox; and his brother Charles Wayne Howard. He is survived by: his children, Brenda Johnson (Mike) and Danny Howard of Quincy; his grandchildren, Kerry Howard, Tyler Little (Laura), Brooke Little, Michelle Johnson (Reed Cox), Alexandrea Baucom (Blake) and Ashlen Johnson (Kevin Carter); his great grandchildren, Myla, Maisyn Baucom, Emery, Ellie Carter, Harrison, Evelyn Little, Calum and Hallie Cox; and his siblings, Donna Naughton, Robert Guy Howard and Terry Howard.
