He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Bangert and Amelia Bangert (Haxel); his wife Helen 'Pat Sullivan; and his siblings, Eleanor Echternkamp, Dorothy Boling Marshall, Ruth Marshall, Robert Bangert, Garner Bangert and Gerald Bangert.
He is survived by: his children, Bruce Bangert (Sue) of Springfield, IL and Barb Nisbet of Quincy; his grandchildren, Sara Davis, Allison Dokey of New Berlin, IL and Natalie Delp (Aaron) of Quincy; his great grandchildren, Charlotte Davis, Graham Davis and Maelyn Dokey; his sister Betty Kestner Numerous; and his siblings-in-law, Jo Sullivan, Janet Sullivan and Tim Sullivan (Debbie). He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives.
Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran School or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
