He was predeceased by: his parents, George Harry and Charlotte Hansen Spear; and his pets, Gussie, Cassie, Sonoma Red, Aspen and Artemis.
He is survived by: his wife Theresa Lynn Powers; his sons, William Spear (Kristin) of Quincy, Nicholas Spear (Sarah) of Bellingham, WA and Kristjan Makke (Lilian) of Tallinn, Estonia; his grandsons, Zeus (Theo Spear), Estonian, Erik, Sebastian and Oskar Makke; his brothers, John Spear (Lisa) of Bonita Springs, FL and Dr. Robert Spear (Jan) of Coronado, CA; his parents-in-law, Dr. Francis and Jean Powers; his siblings-in-law, Tom Powers (Tina) of Bloomington, IL, Tim Powers (Laura) of Quincy, Peggy Phillips of Quincy, Faye Ericson (Mike) of Camp Point, IL and Joanne Bergman (Jeff) of Quincy; and his siblings' children, Irish Setter and Cutrer.
