Akers of Quincy, Illinois, born in Macomb, Illinois, who passed away on August 1, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dale Akers and Laura Akers (Daily). He is survived by: his children, John D. Akers II of Lincoln, NE and Jennifer Akers-Bent of Versailles, IN; his stepdaughters, Tonya Hoier (Adam) of Port St, Valerie Juneman (Bradon) of Tucson, AZ and Sara Gade of Bushnell, IL; and his siblings, Ruth Eagle (Rick) of Abingdon, IL, Gale Akers (Barbara) of Prairie City, IL and Karl Akers of Bloomington, IL.. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
