He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Hines and Lillian Skowzgird Hines; and his wife Linda L. Berry of Quincy. He is survived by: his children, Steven John Hines (Patti "P. J.") of Phoenix, AZ, Kathleen M. Janninck (John "Giovanni") of Quincy, Karen Ann Larson (Robert "Bob") of Quincy, Kenneth John Hines of Elmwood Park, IL, Timothy Lee Hermeling (Sarah) of Sandy Springs, GA and Daniel John Hines (Becky) of Lake Barrington, IL; his grandchildren, Samuel Hines (Kaitlyn), Joseph Hines, Valerie Larson, Kristen Jopes (Michael), Alexander Hermeling, Lauren Luksch (Corey), Meredith Eggett (Kyle), Katherine "Katie" Hines and Paige Hines; and his great grandchildren, Leighton, Callum Hines, Michael and Oliver Pusavc.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home (1535 State St, Quincy, IL 62301).
