He was predeceased by: his parents, George Terford and Selma Terford (Recker); his wife Rita Wensing; his son-in-law Stephen Scherr; and his brother Charles Terford.

He is survived by: his children, Joseph Terford of Quincy, Christine Scherr of St. Louis, MO and Elizabeth 'Beth McCarthy (Joseph) of O'Fallon, MO.; and his grandchildren, Kelly Mazaheri (Doni), Maryellen McCarthy, Allison McCarthy (Mark Marlott) and John Scherr. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
