He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruby Irene and Thomas Ambrose Thompson; his son Michael Philip; his wife Mary Alice; and his siblings, Patricia and Tommy Mac.
He is survived by: his children, Theresa Kathleen (Richard Freihofer), Thomas Wayne (Nancy), Michele Marie (David Panicucci) and Timothy Christopher (Jody); and his grandchildren, Lindsey, Megan, Thomas, Jessica, Jonathan, Matthew, Christopher, Matt, Aaron and Sean.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation in care of the Lieutenant Michael Thompson Fund or to Chaddock Children's Foundation.
