She was predeceased by: her parents, Kathryn Joachim and Benjamin Joachim; and her sibling JJ Joachim (James). She is survived by: her husband Thomas Leo Maas; and her children, Tom (Mary), Donna Bolinger (John), Brian (Jennifer), John (Mandy), Mary Linnenburger (Jim), Janet Willett (Luke) and Coletta Meyer (Brian). She is also survived by twenty-seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Peter's Music/Broadcast Ministry or St. Peter's Church, in Julia's memory.
