He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo T. Meyer and Mona June Meyer (Bence); and his granddaughter Sophie June Steel. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Meier; and his children, Jennifer Nell Steel (Cody) of Quincy and Andrew Meyer (Natalie) of Quincy.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home (823 Broadway St, Quincy, IL 62301). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, October 19th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church (2600 Maine St, Quincy, IL 62301).
Memorials are suggested to Macklin's grandchildren's education in care of Jennifer Steel or Andrew Meyer.
