He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Alfred and Virginia Jud Newman; his siblings, Patty Smith, Edgar Newman, Jr. (Ginny), Gary Newman, Sr. (Mary Lou) and Dick Newman (Peggy); and his siblings' children, Rich and Julie.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Pate; his daughters, Mindy Borgstadt (Justin) and Krista Goehl (Bryan) of Pasadena, MD; his grandchildren, Miles, Owen Borgstadt, Ian, Mia and Zac Goehl; his siblings-in-law, Larry Cooley (Debbie), Connie Kurfman (Wendell) and Sandy Bruns (J. R.); and his sibling's children, Amy, Sandra, James, Cindy, Brenda, Gary Jr., Lisa, Sue Ann, Eric, Kip, Melissa, Jennifer, Josh, Justin, Lauren, Sarah, Melanie, Kelly, Duane and Mark.
